Patient access is in active development and is not included in the current clinician beta. This page describes what we are building for patients, with each feature identified by its stage of development.

Patient access is in active development.

Scribe Mutual is preparing for an open beta for clinicians. Patient accounts are not available for public sign-up or invitation during this phase.

When patient access opens, the intended path is a secure invitation from your clinician or practice so your account can be connected to the correct records.

If you want to be notified when patient access opens, register for patient access updates. If your clinician wants more information about the open beta, point them to Request more information.

Same-Day Notes In active development

When patient access opens, signing a note is intended to release it automatically to the patient's Scribe Mutual account. If your clinician signs on the day of the visit, you should receive it that day.

You will be able to read information available in your account and download supported formats for your own files.

Stay in the Loop In active development

When patient access opens, notifications are intended to let you know when new information is available or when access changes. The patient experience is also being designed to let you manage your notification preferences.

Send It Forward In active development

When patient access opens, you will be able to choose what information to share and revoke a sharing link before it expires. Available expiration options will be shown before you confirm sharing.

Secure sharing workflows are being prepared to help patients and clinicians share selected information with another care team member or authorized recipient.

My Care Team Longer-term direction

A planned view is intended to help patients see the clinicians connected to their care, recent visits, and information shared through Scribe Mutual. Patients will be able to review care-team membership and applicable sharing permissions, subject to verified care relationships and access rules.

Family Records Longer-term direction

Appropriate guardian, personal-representative, and patient-authorized access will not require Premium. A future Premium experience may add a combined dashboard, consolidated notifications, and cross-profile calendars for people who help manage care for others.

Access to another person's health information will remain subject to appropriate authorization and applicable access rules.

Longer-term directions.

These ideas are not part of the current clinician beta or the initial patient-access scope:

Walk-In Link. A planned QR-assisted workflow is intended to help patients connect their Scribe Mutual account with the correct visit and make selected information available to the practice. Practices may still require their usual registration, verification, or check-in steps.
Offline access (planned Premium). Keep selected records available within the Scribe Mutual app when you do not have an internet connection. Downloading and exporting records available in your account will not require Premium. Offline access is planned for a future update.
Smart Sharing (planned Premium). Use optional location cues to help prepare a sharing action with a recipient you choose. You confirm both the information and the recipient before anything is shared.

Premium features will be clearly identified before purchase or activation.

Your health information should move with you.

We believe patients should be able to see, download, and share the health information available to them. Scribe Mutual is being designed to make those actions straightforward while preserving source information, permissions, and applicable access rules.

When patient access opens, the patient experience is intended to show meaningful activity such as sharing links you create, when they expire or are revoked, and important changes to access. Scribe Mutual separately maintains audit records for security and accountability.

Core access without a subscription.

Patient access is in active development. Under the planned model, core chart access and record export will not require a subscription. Optional Premium features are planned for added convenience and coordination.

Premium has a provisional target price of $6.99/month. Pricing and included features may change before patient access opens.
